It is the mission of our department “to affirmatively promote, preserve and deliver a feeling of security, safety and quality services to members of our community.”
The Brunswick Police Department is made up of thirty-six sworn police officers, ten communications officers, two administrative assistants, and three specialized enforcement personnel. The services provided by the sworn officers of the department include routine patrol, traffic enforcement, investigations, marine patrol, community policing and a special response team. The Communications Division of the Brunswick Police Department handles telephone calls (9-1-1 and routine) and dispatching for both Brunswick and Freeport police, fire and rescue services and Pownal fire. Our special enforcement officers provide animal control, parking enforcement and marine ordinance enforcement.
