Public Works Department

The annual posting of roads starts on February 26, 2018, and will continue until April 30th unless weather conditions permit an earlier end to the posting period. Certain Town roads are posted annually to protect the roads from heavy truck traffic during early Spring conditions when the roadbed first begins to thaw and the road base remains saturated with water and unable to support truck wheel loads. Posting is required to prevent significant damage to the road pavement. FMI and a listing of the currently posted roads visit our webpage on posted road information via the link on the left. The application to operate on a posted way is also available on our “Forms & Documents” link on the left.
