Nomination Papers

(General Information: Nomination papers for the Brunswick School Board and Town Council are available in late July of each year and must be submitted to the Town Clerk’s office by early September. The regular annual election of the Town Council and School Board shall be held on the first Tuesday following the first Monday of November.)

(a) No voter shall sign more than one petition for each office to be filled, and should a voter do so, the signature shall be void except as to the first petition filed. With each signature there shall be stated the place of residence of the signer giving the street and the number, if any.

(b) Nominating petitions must be filed with the Town Clerk not more than 100 days nor less than 60 days before the date of election.

(c) Unless a candidate files with the Town Clerk not more than 100 days nor less than 60 days before the date of election the candidate’s written consent to accept nomination, agreeing not to withdraw, and if elected, to qualify, the nomination is invalid.
