HAVE A SPOOKY AND FIRE SAFE HALLOWEEN
Costumes, pumpkins and treats are all a part of Halloween which should be fun for children of all ages. To help you prevent a tragedy and enjoy a fire safe Halloween, the Brunswick Fire Department shares the following safety information with you.
- Use a flashlight to light up a pumpkin. It is just as spooky and less dangerous than using candles.
- Purchase only "flame-proof" or "flame retardant" costumes and masks.
- Check all candy and treats before eating. Report anything suspicious to the police at 725-5521.
- Have a Halloween party to keep children off streets and away from cars.
- If trick or treating door-to-door, travel in groups for safety.
