is located in a beautiful mature white pine forest in Brunswick, Maine.  Bordered on the west by the River Road and on the east by the Androscoggin River, 

the area features:

Coffin BeachCoffin Pond is located on the River Road in Brunswick.

From Brunswick, take Pleasant Street to the intersection of Pleasant Street and River Road.  Turn onto River Road and travel a half mile to the entrance to Coffin Pond on the right.  Coffin Pond is located diagonally across from the entrance to the Brunswick Golf Club.

 

 

Coffin Pond Rules

¨      Children under 8 must be under parental supervision at all times in the park.  Children under 5 years of age must have a parent within arms reach anywhere inside the beach/swimming area.

¨      Chicken fights, wrestling or other rough play is not allowed.  Diving off someone’s shoulders or being thrown will not be allowed.

¨      No throwing rocks or sand.

¨      Using abusive or foul language is prohibited.  Such language is not in good taste and will offend others.

¨      No gum chewing, candy or food in the water.

¨      Persons with open sores, skin lesions, rashes, sore or inflamed eyes, mouth, nose, ear discharges and “communicable diseases” are not allowed in the water.

¨      Glass containers are not allowed anywhere inside the park.

¨      Pets are not allowed in the beach area.

¨      No ground fires allowed in the park: no cooking allowed on the beach.

¨      No alcohol, illegal or controlled substances allowed anywhere in the park.

¨      Balls, Frisbees, etc., are not allowed in the beach area.  Nerf (foam) balls may be allowed at the Lifeguards discretion.

¨       Swimming is allowed inside fenced area and only when Lifeguards are on duty

¨       No SCUBA gear is allowed.  Masks, fins and snorkels will be allowed.

 Coffin Pond Beach 2

  ¨      No spitting in the water or spitting water.

¨      Persons under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will not be allowed in the park.

¨      The beach area in front of and beside the Lifeguard chairs must be kept clear of all persons and objects.  Umbrellas must be kept behind the Lifeguard’s line of view.

¨      All swimmers must exit the water immediately upon request by the Lifeguards or other park staff.

¨      Children wearing diapers, or those not potty trained must wear snug-fitting rubber pants.

¨      Please dispose of all litter properly.

Slide Rules

¨      Floatation devices of any type are not allowed on the slide.

¨      Only one person allowed down the slide at a time. (Exception made for parent and toddler.)

¨      Please go down the slide sitting upright, feet first.

¨      Please do not go down the slide until the person in front of you is out of the way, and it is safe to do so.

¨      Please move out of way after entering the water.

¨      Please do not stand or play in the water in front of, or beside, the slide.

¨      Please do not stop on the slide.

¨      Please keep hands inside the slide flume.
