Swimming Pool Code Revision:
At its meeting held on September 2, 2008, The Brunswick Town Council adopted new standards regarding the installation of new swimming pools in Brunswick. These standards govern how pools are to be protected to help prevent unwanted accidents. The specific pool standards adopted are from the 2003 International Building Codes (IBC). The 2003 IBC pool standards require a higher level of pool protection and improve the guidance of how such protection is achieved. Specifically stating that: "All such pools shall remain empty until the Code Enforcement Officer has inspected the property and determines that the pool enclosure requirements of Section 3109 of the 2003 International Building Code have been met. If you are installing a pool in the near future and are unsure how these rules may apply to your pool installation, feel free to contact the Codes Enforcement Office at 207-725-6651 or via email at jhutchinson@brunswickme.org. Thank you for your cooperation
