Public Records – In General
With limited exceptions, information collected on this website, is considered and treated as a public record as defined in Title 1 of the Maine Revised Statutes Annotated (M.R.S.A.) Chapter 13. Public records are open to inspection and may be copied and distributed to others. Unless the information collected meets one of the exceptions to the public records provisions, there should be no expectation of privacy or confidentiality when providing information to, or utilizing the website of, the Town of Brunswick.
E-mail and Communications
With limited exceptions, e-mails and other written communications sent to, or sent by, elected officials, employees, committee members, or volunteers of the Town of Brunswick are considered public records as defined in Title 1 of the Maine Revised Statutes Annotated (M.R.S.A.) Chapter 13. Public records are open to inspection and may be copied and distributed to others in addition to the addressee. Unless the e-mail or written communication meets one of exceptions to the public records provisions, there should be no expectation of privacy or confidentiality when sending e-mail or other written communication to any elected officials, employees, committee members, or volunteers of the Town of Brunswick.
Website Visitor Information Collected
The Town of Brunswick may collect some or all of the following information about visitors who view or download information from the Town’s website:

Protocol Version – Version of HTTP used by the visitor’s web browser software.
Domain Name – Domain name from which the Town’s website was accessed.
Country – Country from which the Town’s website was accessed.
Query Terms – Terms or words used to query the Town’s website.
Linked From – Another site that is/was linked to the Town’s website.
File Name and Type – File Name and Type requested.
Directory – Directory visited.
The above information is used by the Town to improve its website. It is not collected with the intention of identifying individual visitors. However, visitors are advised that this collected information is a public record. Further, the Town reserves the right to attempt to identify individual visitors should the Town determine that to be necessary.
