Community Policing

Our department members get great satisfaction from being involved in the community.  Some initiatives are co-ordinated within the department itself and others with community partners.   Additionally, department members either volunteer directly for many community organizations or as a liaison to the organization.

If you would like to partner with the Brunswick Police Department on a community event or initiative, please contact Cmdr. Mark Waltz. Cmdr. Waltz will discuss the event with you and determine if it looks like something with which the police department could get involved (after considering competing needs and resources). If the BPD decides to get involved, Cmdr. Waltz will find an officer to work with your organization/group.

We've listed below some of the initiatives of the department and some of the organizations that our department members assist. If the program is underlined, clicking on the text will link to more information on the organization.
