Public Works
The Public Works Department is committed to providing a high level of service to all Brunswick residents, businesses, visitors, and other town departments. Our areas of responsibility include:
- 147 miles of public roads
- 5,200+ road and traffic signs
- 40 miles of sidewalks
- Roadway pavement markings
- Stormwater management (2,600+ catch basins and connected piping)
- Winter operations (snow plowing and removal)
- Municipal solid waste (trash and recycling) disposal and processing
Permits
Permits for new driveways, street openings, road obstructions, and storm drain connections are administered by the Engineering Department.

Posted Roads Closed to Heavy Loads February 21 - March 31, 2023
Between Tuesday, February 21, and Friday, March 31, 2023, a selection of towns roads shall be posted with heavy load restrictions. A permit is required to travel these road for loads exceeding 23,000 pounds. Additional Info...
