Town Clerk

The Town Clerk’s Office is the record-keeping department for the Town of Brunswick. The office issues, records, maintains, and preserves the:

  • Minutes of the Town Council and Other Meetings of Brunswick Boards, Committees, and Commissions
  • Municipal Code of Ordinances
  • Other Official Documents
  • Vital Records Such as Birth, Marriage, and Death

Responsibilities

The office is also responsible for the following licenses: 

  • Business
  • Chicken
  • Dog
  • Domesticated Farm Animals
  • Fishing
  • Hunting
  • Shellfish

It administers all aspects of elections, voter registration, and campaign finance, as well as Board, Committee and Commission openings and applications, and Notary Public services.

Priorities

Our priority is to provide accurate information and excellent customer service to Brunswick’s citizens and other Town departments in accordance with the Town Charter and Code of Ordinances, as well as Maine State Statutes.

Notary Services

Notary Service fees are available at a charge of $10 per signature. You may want to check with your local banks to see if they provide the service for free to their customers. 

We do not notarize wills, I9s, real estate closing, or select power of attorney paperwork.
