Vital Records

Certified copies of Birth, Marriage, and Death records are available at the Brunswick Town Clerk's office. The cost is $15 for the first copy and $6 for each additional copy of the same certificate purchased at the same time. You may come into our office or request by mail at:

How to Request a Certified Copy

  1. Download and complete the application you require:
    1. Birth Record (PDF)
    2. Death Record (PDF)
    3. Marriage Record (PDF)
  2. Indicate the number of copies you would like (cost is $15 for the first copy and $6 for each additional copy of the same certificate).
  3. Attach a photocopy of your photo identification. 
  4. Include a self-addressed business-size stamped envelope.
  5. Make check or money order payable to the Town Of Brunswick.
  6. Mail printed form, other documents listed above and payment to:

Who Is Allowed Access to Certified Copies

  • The person named on the record
  • The person's spouse or registered domestic partner
  • The parent(s) named on the record
  • Descendants of the person named on the record
  • The legal guardian of the person named on the record
  • The grandparent, sibling, step-parent, step-child, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, mother-in-law, father-in-law of the person named on the record
  • Certain others under specific circumstances, please contact the Town Clerk's office if an example does not apply

Genealogy Searches

Birth, marriage and death records for Brunswick residents, if the event took place in Brunswick, are available from the Town Clerk's office for $6 per record searched. If the record is found, the $6 fee includes a photocopy labeled "Not for Legal Purposes." If you want a certified copy it will be $15, which includes the search fee.

Include all known information with your written request, including alternate spellings. Make check or money order payable to Town of Brunswick, and mail to:

Cemeteries in Brunswick are privately owned. The map and information about Brunswick cemeteries is from the Cemetery Subcommittee Report of the 2002 Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Plan. The contact information may not be current; please call the Town Clerk's Office at 207-725-6658 as we may have more recent contact information.

Note: Getchell Cemetery, on former Naval Air Station property, is now maintained by the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA).
