Maintenance Worker

The Parks & Recreation Department of the Town of Brunswick is seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Worker. The selected candidate will perform general maintenance in parks, facilities, and buildings operated by the Parks & Recreation Department. Daily work includes a full range of maintenance at all Town Parks and facilities. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to, turf maintenance, custodial work, locking of gates, minor equipment maintenance, snow removal/plowing, and landscape work (mowing, weed whacking, etc.).

 Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; a driving record in good standing and past experience with building and turf/landscape maintenance. This is a Union position of 40 hours per week. The shift is as follows:

Saturday through Wednesday (6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

Candidates should be aware that several annual Department events will necessitate additional night and weekend hours. Additional work hours will be spent on snow removal as weather conditions dictate.

The pay range is $16.89 to $19.50 per hour depending on experience. The selected candidate for this position will undergo a thorough background check, including references, driver and criminal checks.

Seasonal Maintenance Worker

The Parks and Recreation Department of the Town of Brunswick seeks multiple candidates for seasonal parks maintenance workers. Seasonal positions are temporary with an end date of October 31st. The Town offers flexible schedules for both full and part-time positions of up to 40 hours per week. Some positions have weekend hours or weekend only schedules are also available.

Duties: Mowing, upkeep, and daily cleanup of a variety of park areas; athletic field preparation; painting; securing park gates; trash pickup; and support of special events.

Requirements: Must be able to operate small power hand tools and riding mower; able to lift and carry 50 pounds; must have driver's license with a good driving record.

Criminal and driving background checks will be conducted for final candidates. Steel- toed work boots are required. Pay range is $14.50-$14.80 per hour, depending on experience.
