Energy Efficient Building Codes

Asimages of January 1, 2022, Brunswick requires compliance with the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for all new homes, renovations, and additions. The Department of Energy has determined that this code is 20%-25% more efficient than the previous code, the 2009 IECC. Builders and developers are encouraged to use the State's stretch code, the 2021 IECC. The stretch code is more efficient than the 2015 IECC, following this code can help lower future energy bills and reduce emissions.
