Overview

Description: This is a public skating facility located in one of Brunswick’s most visible parks.

Location: The Mall Ice Skating Rink is located on the Lowe Mall on Maine Street in the center of downtown. 

Restrictions:

• The maintenance of this rink is contingent upon suitable weather conditions for the making of natural ice.
• Ice hockey play is not permitted at this rink during the following hours: Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hours of operation: 6 am to 12 midnight from September 26th to May 31st 

Amenities available:
• Parking along east and west sides of park
• 25 park benches
• Lighted ice skating area in open lawn area, when conditions permit natural ice in the winter

Background: In 1823, the land for this park --- originally swampy --- was conveyed by three citizens to the Town for “five cents” to be “reserved and used as a public walk or Mall.” The swamp was filled soon thereafter and the Mall has since become a source of pride for Brunswick residents.
